The adventure begins

Well, we left Colorado Springs this morning.  So many mixed feelings flooded me as I watched my mom wave good bye in the rear view mirror.  It has been terrifically sad the last couple of days and yet I am still excited and yet I watch the pain in Tiana's eyes and I hurt for her.  It is sooo hard.  But we left and started driving north east into Nebraska.  Yes, Nebraska, that wonderfully boring state.  We had an overcast day, which makes for nice driving but lots of wind.  My arms are very tired tonight as the wind was blowing me all over the road..even with the trailer in tow.  Anyways, our goal was Lincoln and we made it.  I did just fine until the last hour and then I was tired and done...but we made it.  It started raining as we got here so we picked a Ramada and checked in...ewww!  Last time I do Ramada.  The rooms have a unique odor and just don't feel clean and relaxing but we are only here for the night and it could be worse.  I think I will go ahead and do some research about the next leg just to be prepared.

The trailblazer is pulling the trailer just fine although the gas mileage sucks and the volvo is on track for awesome gas mileage.  Tiana and I did fine in the car...lots of tunes and laughter and ..oh yes..the surprises from family for her to open.  Lots of distractions.  Please pray for her...this is so difficult and she is very sad but she is trying so hard to have a positive attitude.  I am very proud of her.  Tomorrow our goal is Davenport, Iowa...we shall see.

  1. I prayed for Tiana this morning as ran around Prairie Hills. Moving can stink, but she will be awesome at making new friends.
Thank you for blogging, Brenda! It's great to know what you're up to.
